Prostatic carcinoma

In the early stages of a prostatic carcinoma, extern radiotherapy and brachytherapy (short distance radiotherapy, interstitial method) are used.

In the locally advanced stages (growth exceeding the capsule), different methods to increase the effectiveness are used. One of them is the regional hyperthermia (RHT-prostatic carcinoma).
Basically, a chemotherapy combined with a whole-body hyperthermia can be considered in case of a metastasizing prostatic carcinoma, especially if the hormone- or chemotherapy alone is insufficient. However, a certified, generally acknowledged treatment concept (study protocol) for this method has not been developed so far.
