Pancreatic Carcinoma

The pancreatic carcinoma is an aggressive disease with a serious prognosis. Only in exceptional cases is it possible to perform an operation (so-called Whipple’s operation). In some borderline cases, the tumor can be diminuished by a preliminary therapy in order to facilitate an operation after all. There exists a treatment concept where regional hyperthermia is used additionally to increase the effectiveness of the treatment (protocol RHT-pancreatic carcinoma).

The locally advanced pancreatic carcinoma is generally metastasizing at an early stage in the stomach area or the liver, i.e. new growth develop (metasasis of tumor cells). In this case, radio-chemotherapy or chemotherapy alone can be applied. Whole-body hyperthermia is in this context to reinforce the effectiveness of these treatments (WBHT-pancreatic carcinoma).
