Esophagial cancer

The standard therapy of the localized (locally growing in a limited way, without distant metastases) esophagial cancer consists of an operation or a chemo-radiotherapy. There is a special hyperthermia system that heats the tumor (situated in the gullet) by using an electrode. With this kind of hyperthermia, it is intended to increase the effectiveness of the chemotherapy in the framework of a treatment concept (RHT- esophagial cancer)

For the metastasizing esophagial cancer there exists a chemotherapeutical approach. Basically for this case, as for all metastasizing i. e. spreading cancer diseases, a whole-body hyperthermia can be considered. However there is no protocol or treatment concept for this.
