Cervical cancer

During the early stages, cervical cancer can be treated either by an operation or by radiation (together with inner radiation); both therapies can be used equivalently.
In a locally advanced stage, if the tumor has already extended to the wall of the pelvis, radio-chemotherapy (radiation therapy together with chemotherapy) is an efficient standard therapy. It also turned out that regional hyperthermia increases the effect of radiotherapy at this stage. Therefore there also exist treatment concepts additionally offering regional hyperthermia (RHT-cervical cancer).
