Bladder carcinomas

Bladder carcinomas are primarily (during the first therapy) treated by surgery or by radiotherapy (± chemotherapy). Locally advanced bladder carcinomas (wall transgressing growth) can additionally be treated with regional hyperthermia (RHT-bladder carcinoma).

A study carried out in the Netherlands showed that regional hyperthermia increases the local effect of radiotherapy alone.
